Burleigh was an extremely important member of the Providence art Club and was
a member from 1880 to his death in 1929. He is responsible for moving the art
club to its present location at Thomas Street near his Fleur de Lis studio.
He was a prolific painter and used many different media for his art including
oils, watercolors and Rafaelli colors. He was the first president of the Providence
Watercolor Club and was president of the PAC from 1915-1921. |
